Mounting a TV... help please..

We bought our own TV instead of paying 600.00 from Jayco. We are having trouble mounting it due to no studs. Any suggestions??

There are usually stickers on the wall with a red X marking the place where a plywood backer exists. This is where the TV is supposed to be mounted.

Check the sticker with a stud finder. It isn't precision placed. Just slapped on.

It isn't placed on a stud. There is a large board behind the sticker. It is not a critical placement at all.

No. It's a board maybe 8 x 8. Do you want to risk it? Istb a bad idea to double check. And a stuff user will see the board.

I asked JAyco for wall diagram. After seeing how wall was constructed, I opted for making a decorative routed board (stained to match) to span across several 2 x 2 studs. Attached the tv mount to the new board. Took a little longer, but more confident the tv will not bring down the stud! The 8 x 8 board was also not installed center.

Thanks for all of the suggestions We were mounting the TV on the swivel panel opposite of mirror that allows you to watch it from the bedroom also. My husband ended up mounting a board on the swivel wall first then he screwed the TV mount onto the board. The TV slide right in position and it looks like we bought the TV with the camper!

Hi! Did you ever figure out a way to mount the tv? We just bought the 2014 287BHBE and aren't sure how to mount the tv. The screws that came with a low profile mount we bought are long....they will go right through the mirror! :-(. Thanks so much!

I had the same question when we bought our White hawk with the swivel entertainment center with the mirror on the back. I asked over and over what to use and never got a real answer. What I ended up doing was buying a normal flat panel T.V. mount from a department store. I threw out the lag screws that came with the mount and bought my own. I measured how thick the back panel of the swivel is (I think you can see the thickness if you swivel it sideways). I bought new lag screws the proper length so they wouldn't hit the mirror. I predrilled holes in the back panel of the swivel and attached the mount to the back panel using the new lag screws.

It is very solid and I have no concerns with its strength. I can't take pictures because she is put to bed for the winter. But basically it's like installing one at home but you use shorter screws and you don't need to find a stud.
