Mouse Problem

Another to keep in mind is, from what I have read, mice do not like to walk across "open" areas. I know this isn't possible for everyone, but if you store your RV on concrete or gravel it will help.
Also, make sure there is no food in there, that's mostly what they are after.
mcfarmall is dead on about looking for holes, look everywhere underneath and seal it up.

We stored our popup and now the 17Z on a concrete pad, have yet to see a mouse. We also rarely eat meals in the camper, so there isn't much for them to find food wise.

We have mice get in the trailer often, I dont know how they get in but they do. We have had the best luck using standard mouse traps while we are camping and sticky traps when the trailer is not in use. We also keep toilet paper in coffe cans and paper toweling secured in plastic bins.

Yes but remember to place something under the sack because it is an oily substance.

They can't get to any food because we don't keep any in there when not camping. They have chwed TP, paper towels, oven mitts and cardboard.
I cannot bring myself to the sticky pads as it is so inhumane.
Guess I want prevention from them getting in there. Perfect world.....

Over the years I have tried everything mentioned above. The best things I have found are; traditional traps (but you have to reset them), sticky traps (I hate them but they work), Poison (it works but they do crawl into a hole a die, and stink for a week or so). By accident I found the best trap of all in my garage! I had a 5 gallon bucket in the garage that I had stored bird seed in it. The bucket was empty so the lid was off. I do not have a clue how they could crawl in, but they could not crawl out. I caught about 10 mice in that bucket over the winter.

With our TT I try for mouse prevention verses deal with them afterwards. First all the food was removed. Then we scrubbed everything down. When we purchased the TT, I crawled under there (open underbelly) and searched ever single square inch for ANY opening. I used marine grade silicone and if needed steel wool to plug the hole. If I could, I also plugged it from the inside to. It is surprising how many holes there are under there, mostly for electrical grounds.

I have succumbed to the traditional mouse traps. I have been finally getting the little bugers!!! No more poison due to stinky dying mice! (After 3 weeks it still smells a little in there......in the bathroom area)
