We have lots of mud daubers here where we live, and in 9 days they could build 2 nest easy. a mud dauber can carry a lot of mud in a days time.

I have seen it done in less time than that, you have had more than one mud dauber building the nest's.

I suppose we have to give the dealer the benefit of the doubt then! (but I still think the nests were already there!)

I think you are right, but down here they can build a two story bungalow in about 8 hours..lol...I get them all on the underside of my trailer and they show up quick.

I agree, same here. Also under the car/truck hood on the manifold. Both types, the long tube type almost always are in pairs and then the ones I call mud globbers. Big chuck of mud for nest. Hard as concrete! ya can here them rascals humming while building.

Thank you all for the input. I contacted an exterminator and he said that while it is highly unlikely for the mud daubers to build a nest that quickly since there really hasn't been any activity with them, it is a possibility. His professional opinion though was that the nests were built on the dealer's lot. We spoke with the service department again and the owner of the dealership ultimately took care of the charge for us. Not while we were there of course, but after we couldn't come to an agreement and decided to settle it after the managers could discuss it. Either way, we are pleased with the outcome.

Lesson learned 1: go back and double check everything yourself before you drive off the lot.

Lesson learned 2: learn everything you can and be prepared when you talk with the dealer/service because they are more likely to take you seriously.

Lesson learned 3: Mud dauber nests are a necessity and already ordered for our TT!!

Thank you so much everyone!!!

That`s my unprofessional opinion too! Glad to hear all worked out for the best.
