Mud flaps

Hi All,

Almost all of our camping trips end up with the last portion of the drive down a gravel/dirt forestry road. Especially when it rains, the front of the trailer gets really splattered with mud and even when it doesn't, it gets the sandblasting treatment from the road dust and gravel that gets thrown.

Can anyone offer their experience on how much help or difference they have seen with wheel mud flaps on the TV and also the big flaps I see across the back of the TV?

TIA!

Stephen

Mud flaps installed on your TV should cut down on the mud and gravel tossed up on your trailer, but they won't eliminate it. Just one of the hazards of towing your trailer down a gravel/dirt road.

Ford mudflaps work well. Actually I got them to keep ice off of the sideboards but they help to protect the camper too.

Thanks,

Yes, that's what I was thinking of for the back of the truck. The Rock Tamers look like they would work pretty well. Did you get these?

Set of 4 Razorback Mud Flaps. Heavy duty thick rubber. Long enough to keep road debris off of my running boards and surely blocks some stone chips on my trailers.
Not nearly as much coverage as the rock tamers tho.

Sharp truck carries quite a few different brands including rock tamers.

Thanks for the link!

The flying rocks and gravel in the testing video is pretty convincing. I'm sure that is what it looks like on some of the roads we go down. I think the best protection is going to have to be mudflaps for the TV and something like the Rocktamers on the hitch. Not cheap but worth it to protect the new baby.

There's ALWAYS one more thing...!
