On the first pic are you just covering the centerhole or all of it?
On the second pic, could you just take the cover off and put regular window screening on the inside?
What other vents need covers?
Thanks

We installed these several years ago and have even transferred them between RVs;

We also installed these on the fridge cover;

IIRC the furnace screen just covers the opening.
Window screen? I’ll say I’m not sure, it’s pretty fine mesh and might restrict the airflow a bit.
The vents for the fridge should also get the screens.

The screens were the first thing I’ve bought for both trailers we’ve owned.

These are exactly what I put on mine. Connecting those annoying little springs for the water heater cover was tedious enough, but when I was trying to hook up the springs on the round furnace cover one I yelled enough colorful words out of pure frustration to remind everyone in the neighborhood that I'm a retired sailor.

Are you sure that the second picture isn't the hot air discharge for your hot water heater ?? If so, you don't want screening over this.

We have had one over ours in multiple motorhomes for many years without problems.

Perhaps they wouldn't make them if the manufacturer recommended not using them.

In addition to those above I also added the long screens for the water heater. You can buy them on Amazon but will need to trim about 1/4 inch to make them fit.

Screen alternative for ...

water heater and fridge.

Here in AZ we are fortunate to have a lack of bugs so we haven't needed to worry about muddobbers etc. when storing our TT. But this winter we will be traveling along the gulf coast and FL. We expect we might encounter more than just a few bugs on the trip.

We've put sections of new flea collars in the water heater and fridge compartments to keep the bugs away, but no screens (we do have a screen on the furnace outlet).

We'll keep on eye on things and report on how this works out for us.
