Muddobber screens?
[ATTACH]36245[/ATTACH
On the first pic are you just covering the centerhole or all of it?
On the second pic, could you just take the cover off and put regular window screening on the inside?
What other vents need covers?
Thanks

IIRC the furnace screen just covers the opening.
Window screen? I’ll say I’m not sure, it’s pretty fine mesh and might restrict the airflow a bit.
The vents for the fridge should also get the screens.
The screens were the first thing I’ve bought for both trailers we’ve owned.

Are you sure that the second picture isn't the hot air discharge for your hot water heater ?? If so, you don't want screening over this.

We have had one over ours in multiple motorhomes for many years without problems.
Perhaps they wouldn't make them if the manufacturer recommended not using them.

In addition to those above I also added the long screens for the water heater. You can buy them on Amazon but will need to trim about 1/4 inch to make them fit.

Screen alternative for ...
water heater and fridge.
Here in AZ we are fortunate to have a lack of bugs so we haven't needed to worry about muddobbers etc. when storing our TT. But this winter we will be traveling along the gulf coast and FL. We expect we might encounter more than just a few bugs on the trip.
We've put sections of new flea collars in the water heater and fridge compartments to keep the bugs away, but no screens (we do have a screen on the furnace outlet).
We'll keep on eye on things and report on how this works out for us.

Why?
We've had one on ours for over a year with no issues, seems like Camco wouldn't sell who knows how many of these a year specifically designed for water heater vents if there was any harm in using them?
Or are you referring to some sort of homemade cover using fiberglass screen material? I would not use tight woven screen of any type because it would likely restrict flue gas flow and cause faults or failures. But the type of screen cover we are using seems to have enough free area as to not cause any flow restriction issues.

Here's my take on this FWIW, I suppose the WH screen would be o.k. cuz it gets pretty hot and would burn off any obstructions and it's easy to see any clogged material.
The refrigerator intake screens would be a definite no because they are difficult to inspect (out of sight, out of mind). You cannot afford to restrict any airflow there because often times there's not enough air flow even without screens. If you camp in hot weather and there is inadequate air flow to the back of the refrigerator, it will not work properly.
I have used pet flea collers for years in both the refrigerator intake area and the WH area and have no problems with wasps, etc. However, they do need to be changed out every year.

I’m a little off topic but... I’ve noticed most folks call the insect under discussion “muddobbers”. I grew up hearing them called “dirtdobbers”.
Anyone else?

Mud daubers is what they are called in WI. We don't really have any in my area, but we do have wasps, especially around my house.

01Tundra:
On your furnice pic it looks like you attached two springs to the squarish plate, not the center single bar. Is this correct? I didn't think that would hold. Maybe I'll retry attaching mine (I'm only using one spring attached to the center bar).

I have an aluminum sided trailer and a rectangular shaped furnace vent. I attached my Camco screen with one spring attached to the bar through the circular vent opening. It feels secure, but I haven't had the trailer over the road yet so...

Yeah I went to the sides of the square plate, it seems to hold tighter that way on ours. Its been there for over a year and about 3k miles with no issues at all......now that I jinxed myself it will fall off while pulling out of the driveway on our next trip and get ran over
