We have used our Murphy Bed for more than 400 nights and no issues yet. I agree that they are not very heavy duty but you could probably beef it up.

An update from us: We have now traveled over 10,000 miles, multiple nights, multiple sites. We have not had any problems with either the brackets or storage. We have a queen and a 2" inch topper. Early on we discovered that we had to make the straps tight in order to keep the bed made. Now we just pull down the bed, throw on the pillows, and we are done. We love the Murphy bed!

I just upgraded to the Zinus 8" memory foam mattress. What a difference. . Moved the latches up about an inch.
Fits perfect with room to spare.

My mattress is tearing apart, it's new but what would I expect from a cheapo mattress. I'll replace when it's due, the warranty service for jayco...they are nice on the phone but going through an rv dealership is such a pain.

So far no issue with the d pins, Ive had the trailer 3 months and used it a fair bit. But if they fail, it's just another project. I've already rewired the dc system.

One mod I did do was to install a 1 inch strap that locks the bottom of the mattress in place so we can make our bed in the morning put the strap down, tighten it and the bed stays made, even while travelling. Nice not having to do it at night.

Murphy bed

Lead me to a sketch or video showing how to set up the Murphy bed straps on 2015 MRB 20. Can’t figure out the 2 on the side, near the foot of the bed

Can’t draw but will tell you they are to prevent accidentally flipping the bed up while you are in it! Unless you have kids or big dogs romping on the bed I just don’t think it’s an issue. I never bothered with them and we never had an issue.

The two straps at the end of the bed attach to the jack knife sofa in my 23MRB. They are there to keep the bed from folding back when you’re using it. We have never had the bed move while we were using it but I could imagine a scenario where a lot of weight is placed at the head of the bed and causing it to fold up.
