My headboard fell off the wall...

Hi all,

I have a 2011 Eagle Superlight travel trailer. Recently a few things started loosening up and whatnot. To be expected I suppose when traveling after awhile. However, I was a bit surprised when the whole headboard slid off the wall. I looked on the back of it and it seems to have simply been stapled to the wall from inside the fabric and padding of the headboard itself.

I was thinking maybe to nail on a picture frame type hanger on it but I'm very concerned about tapping a nail into the wall. Any suggestions?

And before anyone asks, no this was not due to any hanky panky. :-) It fell during travel which is not surprising given the fact there are a few small staples holding that thing up there.

Thanks all,
Chris

Chris,

Glad the headboard didn't land on somebody's head! Try a good glob of "Liquid Nails" or similar construction adhesive. You may have to prop something against it to hold it in place until the glue dries. I believe mine is held in place with a couple of screws through the buttons (like the window lambrequins). I guess if I wake up one morning wearing it, I'll know I was wrong!

Hi Brownie, yeah I was thinking of going glue route but was worried about what it would do to the finish on the wall. But then again there's supposed to be a headboard there so I guess that point is moot.
