Mystery wire

I’ve found this forum so helpful as I’ve stalked it since buying our Jayco 195RB. At the end of a 6000km trip end of last season I found a wire hanging down near sewer connection. Looks just like the wires leading to black tank sensors but there are four connected still there and no missing bolts. I see nowhere that this could be from and wonder if it is ’extra’. It has an eye hook on it so if it came off anywhere I would see a hole where the missing screw would be but I can’t find a thing. I zip tied it up with some other wires running there. I expect I’ll wait to see what isn’t working when I get her out shortly but hoping for advice.

In the center of the drain pipe cap there is a pin sticking up that goes into the cable to keep you from losing the cap. That is what this appears to be. Hard to tell really, otherwise perhaps a ground wire. ~CA

Thanks - I checked, and the drain pipe has a plastic connector, still in place. This is definitely an electrical wire.

ggilbert Thanks for that - this may be it - I only have one grey tank, but maybe it is there for an optional second grey?

It's probably just an extra wire from a wiring harness style that's used in several different trailer models. Being near the sewer hookup I think it would probably be for a macerator pump.

There's been an extra wire dangling near the entry steps on mine since I bought it in 2010. Probably was for a light at the steps, or powered steps.

Looking at the end terminal, it probably hasn't been connected to anything. Just to be certain, look for any place within the reach of the wire for a ground screw.
