Natural gas

Does anyone have natural gas hooked up to their RV? If so any problems with the hook up and or did you have to modify anything inside to make the switch to natural gas?

Propane and natural gas work at different pressures.

If your RV was made to use LP do not connect it to natural gas unless you have modified the stove, furnace, water heater and fridge to accept it. This requires changing some parts in the system.

I would not do so unless I was sure I understood what I needed to do and had the skills to do it or hired a professional.

I think it is unlikely that anything but a park model made to work on natural gas can be safely run on natural gas. Please don't do it without professional advice!

I'd considered it, then not. Orifices have to be changed, and some can't be. Then, when you are traveling you will be changing orifices again back to propane. It's a no go. Would't attempt it.

I would suggest that if you want to use NG, then purchase a NG generator and run what you can electrically. ~CA

Definitely..The problem is natural gas has a lower BTU so it needs a larger orifice for all the burners.

Since propane delivers more BTUs (per gallon or per cubic foot) and burns less volume per hour than natural gas by a factor of two-to-one, it is an energy-efficient alternative to natural gas for many applications.

Welcome Aboard!

The key issue others have mentioned is the orifices need to be swapped out. My guess, there are 4 on the stove/oven, one for each burner. One for the Water heater, and one for the furnace. Lastly, the air/fuel mix ratio also needs to be adjusted.

If you were going to setup on a permanent site, and NEVER move, maybe it would be worth it. But if you plan to move at all, I would not recommend the swap.
