Need Help - Battery Disconnect Switch Problem

Hello everyone-

I have a problem I'm hoping someone in the forums can help me with.

We have a 2016 Jayco Eagle 314BHDS travel trailer, and it came with a battery disconnect switch similar to this one (WirthCo 20387):

It is mounted in the compartment near the propane tanks (see picture attached).

The problem is the knob to the disconnect switch came off somewhere between when we left our last camp site and when we got it to the next site. So now we have no way to turn the battery on - and we can't get electricity to anything inside the camper even when connected to land power. I knew the switch kept the appliances inside from draining the batter but I didn't know it controlled the street power also.

My question is can anyone confirm the make/model of the correct disconnect switch?

I want to order one and get it fixed. I can do it faster than having to go back to the dealer. I just need to confirm which part to buy.

I'm stuck in the middle between our dealer (RV-MAX) and Jayco on the current one - Jayco says they didn't install it (which I don't believe) and the dealer says they didn't install it. Great service.

Anyone else have our model, or one similar? If so did yours come with this switch also?

The easiest solution, short term is to bypass it. Looks like its a $20. item on Amazon.

I used to have one with a removable key that was always getting lost. It took forever to get a replacement but I have seen them sold separately.

I still say if my time was valuable, I would just replace the whole switch.

Don't know of Jayco installing a switch at the factory. Regardless, that or a similar 12v switch will work. I mounted a Blue Sea mini switch on our battery box and so far it is working as it should.

Does your power tongue jack still work when the switch is off? What about the trailer brakes if the emergency breakaway switch is activated?

While towing your tv should have a 12v constant at the plug which will charge the tt battery.

It's a 2016, did you by it brand new? If Jayco didn't install it and your dealer didn't install it, that leaves the delivery driver...??

Like Norty said, bypass it for now. Sounds like you don't know how.
Unscrew the mounting screws and put both wires on under the nut of the same lug. As I don't know how it is wired in your trailer, take both wires off the battery first, for safety, before you start. Then hook them back up when you're done.

Then get one of these quality units, and you won't have trouble again.
