Need Mattress, Found MOLD

We replaced our cruddy OE mattress with a Zinus memory foam. It has been super comfortable. However, today we discovered that it has molded itself and the wood bed platform! What mattresses do you recommend? The Zinus cover is not washable and they tell you not to remove it. Apparently, it sheds micro-fiberglass fibers when you remove the cover (company literature)!

Apparently, all memory foam beds are susceptible to mold when used on a platform without a air circulation beneath them. What do you do?

I would contact Zinus and see if they will warranty the mattress.

Did you say it melted into the bed frame or has mold growing? Some posts in past as to ventilation between mattress and wood. Try search bar above.

I used 3/4 inch foam held on with adhesive to the bottom of my bed and around the edge of the under bed frame and have had no problem even in 30 degree weather.

It molded, and the mold also grew on the wood platform. No spills or water seal issues in the camper. We keep it dry and ventilated year round.

Did a quick look on Amazon Den dry Mattress Underlay-Queen $99.

But before that I would use Concrobium or other product and kill all the mold. Then use a waterproof paint or one with mold prevented in it or added to it and see if it comes back. Plus, of course, insulate under the wood to prevent moisture coming through or gravitating to the cold area.

We replaced our concrete mattress with one from Mattress Insider after considerable research (Quite a bit from this forum). My only regret is not doing it sooner. My Wife and I are considering buying the same one for our house as well.
