Need some longer safety chains

What is the best way to do this. Only need about 4 more inches. Should I buy all new chains or extensions. Camper is 5400 lbs dry. What type of chains should I get menards heaviest chains are like $30 and only 6000 lbs. And that is just a bag of chain then I need to add hooks

Thanks
Chris

Get a couple threaded chain links. That's what I did.

Recall the chain duty rating doesn't need to match the TT GVWR, rather the tongue weight plus some margin. Those chains don't need to support the entire weight of a trailer, rather catch the tongue should it become uncoupled.

Well I guess the 10,000 lb chains I bought to extend mine might be a little overkill.

There is always something new in this RV education.

x2 on the threaded chain links. Only needed 1 for each chain and they just stay on my truck. I attach the hooks to those.
