Here is a GOOGLE SEARCH link for mounting bike racks on the RV trailers all shown in one spot. Might give you some good ideas. Just click on the one that catches your eye for more info..

http://www.google.com/search?safe=ac...mg.fEbiNvzgEqk

I kinda like this idea of mounting the bike rack on the front of the TT Trailer which I think would put the bikes out of sight more going down the roads...

Just my thoughts

To often the rear bumper is made from a thin gauge metal and has a low static load weight limit (150lb). The big issue with a bike rack is it's difficult to keep the rack/bikes from moving around while in tow, especially on less than ideal roads, and the movement stresses the bumper and weld joints.

It's my understanding all this guy had was a grill attached to his rear bumper..........,

Wow, I had no idea the bumper was that crappy. I like the looks of the rack you posted RoyBraddy.... wonder if a guy could make one of those on his own? Thanks for the info!

Re: Need the best location for 4 bikes.

Those that mount on a front hitch, how does this affect airflow? Id be worried I would overheat in the summer.

No problems at all. I closely monitor all temps and they didn't rise at all more than usual when towing. I was nervous about that myself until I talked with several people who have this set up. No problems at all.

We also use a front receiver and rack on the front of the Silverado. The rack is a Swagman that holds the bikes on their wheels. This has worked very well for 8000 miles in the last year. Easy on and off. No overheating issues. Visibility while driving is fine.

I get that the bumpers are cheap and won't hold a lot of weight (my owners manual says 100lbs)but I think this picture is evidence of a severly overloaded bumper. If you look on the left side of the bumper you can see a 2" reciever attached. Also what are those big pipes welded onto the top of the bumper for? Kind of looks like rack slid down over the pipes? That would make a great lever to rip the bumper off.
Check out my toungue mounted rack in the mods section.

My only issue with my front bike rack is visibility. I would not want to travel at night with them. Air flow has not been an issue even with the 8.1 liters need for air !!
