New 28RLS

Brought home our new 28RLS last week (traded our 212QBW). Started on the Modifications over the weekend. Closed off the front storage and re-enforced the bed. Pulled the stock mattress and put in a 8" memory foam mattress. Next will be a Progressive EMS (hardwired) and convert the shore power cord to a detachable one. I think I need to make a trip to the money tree! Hope it's in bloom.

The 28RLS is a nice floorplan....., and sounds like you are on a roll with mods!

If you get a chance start your own 'on-going' modification thread over in the "Jayco Mods" forum......... pics are always well received

Would you be willing to share more about your mattress (brand name, where purchased, etc.)? We've got a topper on our OEM 'mattress' and it's tolerable, but just barely.

We've got a similar floorplan and really like it... except for the mattress.

We have a 2018 28rls. It's just me and the Mrs. on most trips so no need for much more as far as sleeping is concerned. Her must haves were the large rear window, large shower and walk around queen bed. We decide to go with a Sleep Number mattress. We'll be testing out this weekend.

Enjoy!

Going today to look at a 2019 28rls. We have a 2015 27rls the mattress is horrible in that one too. Has anyone ever had the window in the bedroom exit door tinted. Besides the mattress probably to only thing I absolutely hate about our camper...

A number of us have installed a product called "Slim Shade" by AP Products. It comes with a tinted window and a shade, works great!

One of many sources: https://www.rvupgradestore.com/AP-Pr...-p/20-1562.htm

My wife rigged a curtain to cover that window at night. The light coming in from outside was a distraction when trying to sleep.

Sometimes we need a shade over the window in the bedroom door. We tuck in a bath towel in the valance around the top of the door.
