I am considering a used 2014 32BHDS with fiberglass sides.

My concern is the length.

Did you consider the long length and the challenges of finding RV parks, state parks, etc prior to purchasing?

In terms of space, my 2 teen boys 13, 18, in rear room would love it!!! Love not converting dinette and sofa to beds, having a place for coffee in the morning, kids have their own private place in rear room, etc....solves all of of creature comfort issues and wife is happy.

I'm just concerned about the long overall 36' length and finding places to camp in parks, RV parks, campgrounds, etc.

Those that have these 32' models please share your experiences.

Not trying to take over your post, but I see a few 32BHDS owners who perhaps can comment.

I actually have a recent thread on longer units, and their challenges, but did not get the input from actual owners I was looking for.

Thanks!
There have only been a couple of parks that I can't go to. Also some parks may only have a few spots big enough and they fill up quickly. It's not the private parks that I am talking about, but the public state and national parks that I have had issues with. It's never really been a huge issue, you just have to plan more. I go to California as much as I can and the beach campgrounds are the ones that I have issues with, but mostly it is just getting a reservation. They fill up way in advance. Most CA parks say 30ft, but I have never had an issue with my 32BHDS fitting. I always look at google maps satellite view to see what size trailers are in the parks I am interested in and google images of the park name as that will show peoples trailers in the spots from ground level. If I see trailers close to my length in those spots I don't worry about fitting - I once stayed at a campground that said 25ft max and had no issues fitting. I usually find that the spots say 30ft and end up having 15ft behind the spot where I hang over onto grass as does everyone else in the campground. That happens at the beach too - hanging over the sand. I have also never found that I can't get into a spot because I can't make a turn or the front of my truck was going to hit someone. I have had to get close to other people when moving around, but that goes with almost every campground - even if the spot is 72ft long. The point I am trying to make is, you won't find the length of the spots to be the majority of the problems, but I would guess you will find a problem getting a reservation.

The biggest thing to get over with the 32BHDS is the swing on the rear of the trailer. You always have to be mindful of the rear swing - at gas pumps, in campgrounds, in storage lots, etc. I just had someone hit my trailer in my storage lot because they were not thinking about the swing on their 27ft toy hauler - they couldn't wait the extra 5min for someone in the other lane to move so they went out the gate backwards and took out my ladder and top of trailer in the process.

Anyway, I have been from coast to coast with my 2014 32BHDS (including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York/New Jersey, and Washington,DC) and have never found I couldn't fit in a campground I looked into and made plans for ahead of time. I will say, since I travel out of Arizona as much as possible, that I am very leery of trying to just show up to a local/state/national park without a reservation. I know private parks are always an option, but they cost more and don't always have the best locations.

Thanks for taking the time to provide detailed information and real-world, first hand experience.

It appears that most with a TT this size 32' (36' overall) appear to find a way to make it work. As was already stated, it is more important to get what you want and find a way to make it work, than it is to find a TT that fits everywhere but is not something you really wanted.

What we really want is a 32BHDS as it provides a private rear room for my teens, we don't have to make beds every night, and it leaves our dinette and sofa free for use all the time. Not to mention inclement weather and added space for not feeling cramped if inside for 1-2 days.

After reading that you have used your 32BHDS from coast to coast, I'm sure you have seen it all!!

Again, thanks for the detailed information, it is much appreciated!

I can't say I have seen it all, but I have seen a lot. We bought our trailer for the same reasons you stated - kids having their own space and not making up beds all the time - seems like chores not a vacation if you have to do that all the time. We contemplated getting the 32TSBH or the 33RBTS with the opposing slides but I am glad we didn't. They take up room from the camp spot and some of the campgrounds are tight. We thought about the 31QBDS but my wife and I don't spend that much time in the bedroom as my kids do in theirs. I wish Jayco had something in the Jayflight that had three slides on the drivers side with a king bed that slid out up front.

Nice looking trailer. Is that an Ex towing it?
