New Owner - 2018 Jayco SLX 264 BHW

Hi all, just put a deposit down on the tt. Have a Jayco pop up since 2003 and finally made the upgrade.

Will be towing with a 2012 Expedition primarily and may try my F150 with 2.7 eco on a short trip to see how it does. Most of our camping will be close to the lake we dock our boat. Not making a 90 mile trip to go boating will be great.

We looked at a number of campers and were between the Avenger, a Puma, and the Jayco. We looked at the Jayco today and there was no comparison in quality with the Avenger. The Puma was nice but a bit smaller.

Tow capacity is no issue but I'll be closer to payload than I would of hoped. Fortunately for most of our trips we can take 2 vehicles. And with the pop up we are used to camping relatively light.

Hope things go smoothly as we get pickup scheduled and get the first trip under our belt.

We have the same TT, and we absolutely love it. Fits us well as fam of 4 who take about 3 trips a year, not full timers. We tow with half ton GMC now and it works well, but we started out with our 2002 Olds Bravada which was OK for short trips with little grade. Enjoy!

Did the same upgrade last year, now have same trailer and love it, family of 4 and a dog. Long trips got tiresome in Landcruiser so added an F250 gasser to fleet, never looked back, did great in Mountains and West Texas wind. Happy camping!

Shawn,

Welcome and congrats on the new rig!!!

If you haven't picked it up yet, consider a wdh with integrated sway control. And make sure the dealer gives you the correct rated wdh (the wd bars) for your loaded tw, not based on the "brochure" weight.

Enjoy the new rig!!!
