Our problem is lack of support in the middle of the bed. Both of us are definitely caving in towards the middle so we'll be adding supports.
Personally I don't mind it, but as someone pointed out, mattresses are definitely a personal preference!

Yes you can trim the foam. I laid the topper on the mattress and marked where I was going to cut it ( I took 8" off ). Then I laid the topper on my shop floor , used a 8' 2x4 as a straight edge , put all my weight on the 2x ( to sandwich the foam between the topper and the concrete floor) and used a new 6" razor blade to cut . Cut like butter.

Yeah I saw that . That's what made me look at the tag on my mattress. Was just curious if the same was happening with the Sealys .

On trimming memory foam.
I took an electric knife and trimmed 4 inches off my memory foam mattress to fit my new 23MBH. Worked like champ!

Beware, folks. Buying a mattress is tricky business. The mattress industry was, and in my opinion still is, at about the same level of openness as a used car lot on the wrong side of the tracks. Many years ago, maybe the 1970s, the government looked into the industry, may have been the FTC, I can't remember that far back for sure. But the bottom line was you could not compare mattress prices between stores because one mattress might be sold under a dozen, maybe it was dozens, of series names. A $600 mattress under one name at one store might sell for $300 elsewhere under another name.
I recall my father having one custom made, a king, harder on one side than another, at a manufacturer in his city around 1980. Standard mattresses like his special one ran around a thousand dollars before discounts back then. He paid around a hundred dollars. Maybe that explains why for years there were almost as many mattress stores as gas stations!
That's one reason I prefer air mattresses. My base is known! If the bladders are high quality and the topping is decent, I've got a known quantity. Even there, prices can be ridiculous, but that's within my control if I keep in mind its guts is just air.
While there has almost certainly been some consolidation and improvement over the years, I doubt the situation is all that much better, reading the advertisements.
Mattress "experts" should correct me where I'm wrong.

We have a 2017 Jayco RBS. We have slept in it approximately 30 times. By the 7th night I developed a sore back and there was a considerable sag in the "mattress". I spoke with the dealer and was told this is typical for an rv mattress. So today I decided to do a little investigating. I looked for a brand name tag but there was none. There was a tag on that said "distributed by Patrick industries." There was a zipper on one end so I undid it and what a surprise. The mattress consisted of three layers of some type of material. Knowing what I know now I will be returning to the dealer with pictures of so called mattress and wanting a replacement with a proper mattress. May contact Jayco as well.

The 2017's are supposed to be "Simmon's Residential" mattresses, per Jayco's website.

My new '16 White Hawk has a "Denver" mattress and it's seriously the only complaint we have with the new trailer... even with our 4" memory foam topper it's like sleeping on concrete. She's looking at replacements...

I just know the Jayco website says that and so does our purchase order. I've noticed other people saying there's no tag anywhere on their mattress, so who knows for sure?

The tag on the mattress in our 2017 say "manufactured under license from Simmons" or something very similar.

Our 17 hummingbird mattress has not even been slept on yet and its sagging just from people sitting on it while on the showroom floor for 2 weeks. They told me that Jayco will not replace them under warranty unless it has 1.5 inches of sag in it......I said its brand new.....they said Jayco doesn't care.

Have you looked at the mattress support? Is it sagging? Different trailer, but ours was sagging. The dealer reinforced the thin platform the mattress is on and that corrected it.

If the platform is not the cause of the sagging you probably should bite the bullet and pop for a decent one. RV mats have a terrible reputation.

We purchased a Eagle HT 275 RKDS in October. The Simmons mattress started sagging almost immediately. Both sides. I am 175 and wife about 130. It continues to get worse and does not recover. Using a 2 in topper doesn't help the sag. Just poor quality. I've contacted Simmons to see what they will do.

Jayco finally said they would replace it....they said it was questionable when the sagging is under 1 3/4 inches....I was like are you kidding.......anyway getting a new one we will see how this one does.

We received a replacement for the original mattress. The tag said manufactured under license for Simmons. It was the same material as the original mattress. There is no way in hell this is a residential mattress. Used it once only before putting trailer away so will see in spring if it is any better.

Mine has no name on it at all other than its made in USA on the tag. Im betting the mattress they send won't be any better than the old one but at least it will be a good start for the spring...LOL
