New Tire Purchase
I have a 2015 Jayco Whitehawk 24RKS with the original tires (Rainer ST 205/75R14 load range C. I would like to get quality tires and have looked at the following:
Costco Greenball Towmaster 8 Ply, load range D at $61.99 each
Carlisle 8 ply tires at 90.00 each
One concern is does anyone know if my stock rims are rated for 8-Ply tires with a load range of D or should I stick with 6 ply load limit C.
Any recommendations would be helpful. I have NEVER had any problems with RV tires (knock on wood)however want quality tires since I will usually have family members with me. The majority of our towing is in central California where it can get pretty hot.
Thank you for any comments or assistance.

I had to call Jayco and they said for my trailer they bought a tire and wheel kit from tredit tire. They were very helpful and could tell me exactly what rims I had just by the picture and the description (that comes from your your sticker). So first call Jayco to see where they sourced your wheels from.

I just completed a 700 mile trip with my new Goodyear Endurance tires, Load Range “D”, and I did notice a smoother ride and much less sway when passed by semi trucks. They replaced my Load “C” Rainers that came on the trailer and were less than 2 years old. Much more peace of mind and no more worrying about a Chinese bomb going off.
For me it was money well spent.

I went thru replacing tires on our 26BH last year. The wheels that shipped from the factory all had a model/manufacturers' (Dexstar) sticker on them but the only one legible was the spare...the tire cover on it saved it from fading. I contacted Dexstar and the confirmed the model I had would take a load range D at the max.

I should have said earlier that I planned on going with the Goodyear endurance but I was focusing on if your rims were good enough for the d range which is what I was concerned with.

You have to watch Goodyear. Some of their Endurance tires only come in load range E, it just depends on their size....I ran into that with that with a 15" tire.

Get the Goodyears, and make sure they use metal valve stems. Love the towing experience.

I did not get a chance to upgrade the tires before my trip. Here is my specs though
Front GAWR: 5200 lbs
Rear GAWR: 6340 lbs
GVWR: 10,000 lbs
GCWR: 22,500 (according to the Ford 2017 tow guide
Weights:
Steer axle: 4920 lbs
Drive axle: 5100 lbs
Trailer axle: 6160 lbs
Gross weight: 16180 lbs
In case my sig does not show it, I have a 2017 F250 SRW 4x4 with an 6.75 ft bed and a Diesel engine.
In my case the trailer is not overloaded and not sure what else I could put in it. I do. To need to upgrade to the load range D but I probably will before I do the same trip next year. So far over 1000 miles this trip with no issues but will still upgrade anyway. And that also puts me in the 3-5 year window for upgrades.
I will get the metal valve stems. Either because my current TPMS system will be fixed (long story) or because the Trailer TPMS system from Ford comes with them.

Just put on Goodyear endurance 205 75 14 on my 2016 jayfeather 23rbm to replace the rainier tires in mine. Also was concerned about the load range change from C to D on my stock aluminum rims. No problems for me. Discount tire will help and match your cheapest price you find on the internet. You bring your rv they install your done. They treated me good. Hope this helps , happy trails

When I looked st them they would need to work with an installer. I just got nervous that any old installer would have RV experience. I was going to Raban tire since they were close, had experience, and wa dealer recommended

If you want to run the higher pressures you need to make sure they use metal(instead of the default rubber) valve stems when putting on the higher rated tires.
