Now, The Options

So, I now am certain that I can go to a higher weight rating (and ply) and the 65# PSI tires.

Now, to narrow down the multitude of options.

Have heard generally quite decent reviews/ratings on these two 205/75R15's:

Carlisle ST Radial Trail RH

Maxxis ST Radial M008

Would I be fine with either of these or what other options are highly rated?

Jeff

But, I find the only dealers listed are Discount Tire, and none of them within 150 miles have my size in stock.

On line?

Jeff

That indicates that they are good tires.

Just beware of buying tires online. I just checked the ones I bought last fall (2015), and the manufacture date is in 2014. I can accept that for the price I got them for- $400 for 5 new Maxxis 205-75-15 tires, D rated. But if they were much older, I'd be complaining.

Not sure how it works in your area but here, if you have a dependable tire shop that you like, they can order most any brand of tires.

A solid piece of advice would be anyone who is running Tow max tires would be to get them off. They are garbage and are of a safety risk. I feel the need to confront the ntsb on them with all of the faliures that have been reported. I went with Maxxis load range E tires from Discount tire. They were the cheapest but also the person I spoke with has constant calls of Tow max tire failures. My new Maxxis load range E are whet is needed to safely tow my 334 which is maxed out.

frjeff- I just put a set of Maxxis 8008 205-75 15s on my 24FBS. Looked to this forum and others to see what RVers' opinions are and I felt an overwhelming response for Maxxis 8008 tires. I upgraded to 8 ply, D range and feel much safer now that I got rid of the BLOWMAX tires that you have also. I paid $102 per tire thru ebay Discount Tires but got 1 year old "NEW" tires. Not happy with that but I guess it's okay, I'm told. Had a local tire shop mount them and also adjust my TT brakes.

Happy RVing,
Jeff
