New to Jayco Forum

Hi,
I am coming over from another RV forum. I am switching from my Cedar Creek to a Jayco product. I have on order a Jay Flight 26BH and would like to hear from others who have this product. I saw the youtube video of a very bad experience one person had with this model, but I would like to hear if others have had this problem. I have been towing a 37 ft. fifth wheel for the last 9 yrs. and had a fifth wheel before this one, a 30 ft Jayco.
Just deciding to downsize and not as many steps to go up and down. I loved the fifth wheel for its ease of towing and for its hooking up ease. I feel like a newbie going back to a TT after all these years. We started camping in a 11ft. hard sided TT in 1974, had several TT's moving up to a 29 ft. Wilderness TT, before going to the Jayco 5'ver. As I mentioned I feel like a newbie with much to learn again about hitches, hooking up, and towing a travel trailer again. So, here I am hoping to hear positive or negative comments about this Jayco Jay Flight 26BH. I liked that it had some nice features and that it had no slides to deal with. Getting older and not wanting a whole lot to take care of is important. The bunks we don't need but would make excellent storage for extra stuff we don't need!
Thanks for listening and hoping to learn a few things, especially need to hear about hitches with sway control, something I haven't used in a long time.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Jayco on order. The 26BH is a good camper. I think the 26BH is a little step up over the 264BH we started with. Our 264BH was a great camper and never had an issue with it. As far as WDH, I have a Blue Ox and like it very much. It's not hard to set up and works well.

Welcome and congrats with your purchase. As far as WDH I use a Husky Centreline with #1200 bars with my 28DSBH and have towed across Canada and upper US with absolutely no issues.

We are the brand new owners of a Jayco 26BH and have only towed it home so far. We plan on taking it out this Friday and Saturday so will let you know of anything of importance with it. Like you, we did not want the slide and I believe this is just the right size for us. We did buy the Blue Ox System and DH said that worked great!

Congrats on the new 26BH, we are also the new owners of one! It was the perfect floor plan for us. Looking forward to picking it up in April. Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on going with a new Jayco TT. We use an Equalizer brand 4 point hitch. It is easy to use and takes care of equalizing and sway control at the same time. Have fun with your new trailer!

Welcome

Welcome to the Jayco world. We bought our first one last March 27RLS. As newbies, the forum was my lifesaver. Everyone is so helpful and willing to share. We have had no problems with our unit and are very pleased with the quality. We use the Blue Ox hitch and love it.

Have to do some more thinking on what we want. Wife and I are in disagreement. The 26BH seemed to be the choice but not happy about the 74 inch bed, and I am having a hard time going back to a TT, after 14 yrs of a fifth wheel. So, now am thinking of two possible choices which are still in the 29 to 30 foot limit I had hoped to go with. The 27.5RKDS has some very nice features similar to the 1st 5ver we had. The 37.5 RLTS is also nice with more living room space. Both are very close in price a couple thousand either way, and the weight is close, the RLTS just a bit heavier, probably due to extra slide.
Obvious the 26BH was a whole bunch cheaper price wise, but the bed and not having a slide for a bit more room was not making me jump for joy.

Yeah, once you've had a slide, it's pretty hard going back I think for most people. I don't think I could do it.

We have had our 26BH for one year next month. When we got it we had a smaller truck to pull it, so we did not get a slide out. Now we have a bigger truck and wish we had a slide out, but cost was an issue.
We have had very little issues with it, nothing major at all. We take it out at least every month once or more. Have done many mods that are easy to find here.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
