New Tool Box Mod

So I found a narrow toolbox by Better Built. Installed it today on my Whitehawk and it fit great!! now have a place for the floor jack, some tools, and basically more storage. It really freed up a lot of space in my front storage area. Very easy to instal. Next is the battery instal into the box. Off to the hardware store for a rubber grommet for the battery wires and should be ready to roll!!

Nice! Did you have to drill into the tongue to mount it? How is it secured to the tongue?

Yes I used some 5/16 Tec Screws and screwed the box down to the tongue of the trailer, drilled two 1/2 inch hole in the lower front of the box, used some rubber bushings I got from ace hardware, ran the battery wires in through those. All and all it worked out well. Then I attached some U bolts to the bottom wing parts of the box to hold the equalizer hitch and sway bars to.

Here is the link to the tool box

Never thought of doing this but will be considering it. I have almost 0 storage room for tools. I will try to keep the contents light but I can see it helping me out a lot. Thanks!

Make sure you allow for venting of the battery....if possible section off the battery from the tools etc. Fumes can be flammable and corrosive.

How much weight will this add to your tongue weight?

I did add some vents in the side near where the battery sits, thanks for that info!!! Also I haven't been to the scale yet but by my calc it should only add about 90-120 depending what all is in the tool box.
