New trailer - 2023 25RB
Hello all, new camper here, just picked up our new 25RB trailer on Saturday, it’s our first trailer. It’s a 2023 model, please let me know if you have any questions about the trailer. I plan on extending the bed to a full size queen, replacing the toilet with the Dometic 320 and installing rear view cameras among other things.
I know I’ve got a lot of learning to do, I’ve been lurking on the forum for a few months and have already picked up so much useful info so thanks to everyone who contributes.
We only found a few small things that were not right but I’ll fix those. The 12v refrigerator does not shut off when the battery disconnect is off. As far as I can tell all the other 12v circuits are powered down, it’s just the refrigerator that’s still on. The dealer says to turn it off using the temperature control inside the fridge. Is that normal?
Thanks,
Iain

Iain,
I'm not familiar with the operation of the 12V frig....., but I'm sure someone will chime in.
You may have already run across the JOF thread titled "Jay Feather 25RB Owners", but here's the link just-in-case:

My battery disconnect does not turn off 12v fridge either. A couple other circuits for lights, etc, stay energized as well. The disconnect primarily disables things you wouldn't want working during travel. Slides, awning, jacks, etc. My tongue jack will work in basic mode, but autolevel and stuff is turned off.
I installed a total disconnect at battery I use for storage.

Same for my 2022 27RB relative to the 12V refrigerator still powered. I also installed a disconnect at the battery for storage.
Mine has a wiring schematic label just above the factory installed disconnect that shows the following items still powered.
Power Converter Charge Line
TPMS, Lighting, HVAC, etc End of BMPRO Control
Tow Vehicle Charge Line, Roof Solar Prep, Power Tongue Jack
Breakaway Switch, Smart Light Control
12V Refrigerator

Congratulations on the new 25RB. We also pick our new 25RB unit up on Saturday, but it's a 2022. So excited to get out there...but have a long cold Western NY winter to weather before our first outing for Spring Break in Myrtle Beach.
However, with all that time, I should get through my list of modifications...

Congratulations on your 2023 Jay Feather 25RB.
We have traveled over 12K miles across the Western states with our 2021 25RB and no major issues. Our refrigerator is gas/elect. Here are most of our additions/changes:
Full queen bed
Dometic 320 toilet
Swivel goose neck bathroom faucet
Dark curtains for entry door window
Screen door cross bar
Brass 90 degree elbow for city water and black flush inlets
Furrion rear view camera
Lippert PSX1 front and rear power stabilizers
TST 507 TPMS
Safety struts (supports) for rear bumper
Curt 2 inch bumper receiver for our bike rack
Husky Brute 4500 lb. electric tongue jack
Tongue jack cover
Cables for a 1000W portable inverter in the front pass thru
200W Renogy solar suitcase to recharge two 6V batteries when dry camping
Maybe these items will give you some ideas for your new camper.

Thanks for the list, that gives me more things to think about.
So far I’ve completed the full size queen bed conversion, the Dometic 320 toilet with bidet 😀, changed the storage door locks for the barrel key style and fitted an electronic lock on the main door. Tomorrow is the TPMS install and Haloview bt7 rear view camera install.
First trip out is end of the month, looking forward to that.

First Jayco 2023 RB
Hello all:
First time Jayco owner, but longtime TT camper. Picked up our new rig in October of 23 and haven't been able to real do much with it as of yet.
One question I do have, does anyone know what the illuminated switch does on the base cabinet by the kitchen sink? I cant seem to attach a pic of it, but it seems to be under the fold down counter top extension.
Thanks

For the fridge, it stays powered up. If you turn it off in the fridge and leave the door open the light has a timer on it, it will shut off after a few minutes.
Go out and have some fun.

Really like and considered that 25rb, but got a great deal on a new 2022 22rb in late October. I also knew I'd be more capable/comfortable with my truck on the smaller unit.
Same as you, got it home in late October and stared at it for months. Now, just watching the clock and the calendar to be able to take it out!
Congrats! We're gonna have a great time!

This was one of my first considerations; the Dometic 320. Especially before ever using the system. Did you have to purchase a new mounting gasket? Did you have any clearance issues with toilet or changes to waterline attachment point etc? Add a shut off?

JKyle, the 320 does fit the 2021. I suspect that the toilet has remained in the same position for the 2023 model. The plumbing on the 2021 was a white braided hose coming from the left side of the toilet and fit without modification.

And… I added a shut off and new 320 toilet comes with a new gasket.

Thank you for that information!
That little plastic toilet is too weird. :P
Looked at photos and the hose looks to be the same on the models through the years.
The shut off: would it be 1/2 inch?
Did you use something like this?

If it’s white braided hose then I wouldn’t use a Shark bite valve. I’d only use those with PEX or copper line. For white braided hose you need a barbed fitting with a an adjustable clamp.

Yeah. Mine is the white braided line. I’ve seen so many photos of other campers with the same floor plan with the blue Pex line, I had to go outside and double check mine.
Thank you for that correction

How about this?
All the other barbed looking valves were specific to Pex or does that not matter as long as it’s not a self biting type fitting? Use this with along with hose clamps?
