New Trailer needs a New Shed

Just took delivery of my new Jayco 32bhds. And now in the market for a shed to park it under. Looking at the Carolina Carports. Trailer is 35'8" long 9' wide 11' tall. Looking at have a carport 41' long 18' wide and 12' tall. With the additional width I will be able to open my slide and store other toys out of the weather.

Please give your input to this size shed and any other brands of the buildings. These run around $2500 and all I do is show them where I want it.

You need it higher than 12' so you can inspect it and work on it.

12' is the leg height pitch of the roof will be closer to 15'

That is the width and height of mine it works well. Mine in 18 x 36' and was fine for my last rig but now it is a few ft short but still does a great job.

I poured concrete under mine and bolted it to the slab. Make sure they install bracing where the sides bend into the roof struts.

I can't help with advice, but ask that you document and post your progress. Pictures of the shed being installed would be great. You bought yourself a nice new trailer. Enjoy!

As for the shed, is there one that is a little taller that would allow roof inspections/work on the 32 if needed? Or is the drive large enough to pull the 32 out from the shed to work on it?

Is the width really 9' wide?
I think my TT is 8'. And I thought the maximum on US roads was 8.5'.

Would that model hold a snow load?

I have plenty of room in my driveway so the height should be good. And we do not get much snow in central Louisiana.


I went with the equal-izer hitch trailer pulled great. Started on I-10 and did not shake anything off the truck or trailer. I did loose a sissybar on a motorcycle on that same stretch. Hit I-49 heavy traffic had no sway in the trailer. Could not even tell it was back there. Very happy with the hitch.

This makes 12 weeks I have been waiting on delivery of my shelter from Carolina Carports. I will call again today to try and get an actual delivery date.

I built a pole barn for my first TT, 12' height. Big mistake. When we looked for our second camper I realized I couldn't get a fiver into it. So we stuck with TTs. Are you sure you won't want a fifth wheel some day? Our Eagle is 11.5 and fits nicely (8' not 9' wide) height and length wise but I should have made it wider.

I am only 8 foot wide,fat fingered that earlier. I really think that at 15 foot in the center that should be tall enough for just about anything. If not I can adjust at that time. Will go by the dealer this week and get it ordered. I know there is a long lead time. You are seeing them pop up all over the place.




But I do have the trailer all packed up ready to go on its first trip this weekend. Camped in the driveway last weekend and moved stuff from the old trailer I to the new one all week. We are ready to go.
