Just bought a 2019 jayco jay flight 34rsbs, set it up and leveled it 2 weeks ago. Was walking by the tongue and all of a sudden the block the jack was on busted. My question is, I have a Dodge Nitro with a hitch rating of 3500 lbs. Can I lower my rv on it so I can replace this block without destroying something? Not moving anything other than block. Hoping to be full-time occupant.

Welcome to the Forum! Congratulations on the Jay Flight.

I would not set it on your Nitro. The dry hitch weight of your trailer is in excess of 1300 lbs. It would be safer to set up some serious cribbing under the tongue to support it and with jack stands under the front of the frame, instead. We don't want you to get hurt or damage your Dodge.

X2 on the no for the Nitro.
X2 on the cribbing.

Never use concrete blocks unless they are solid as they are not designed for weight. I prefer2 x 10 or 2 x 6s plus I have some pieces of 6 x 6 from a post that work well. Do you have a car jack? Might be able to get it up far enough to replace the block with cribbing.

I have a car jack and a 6 ton bottle jack, I also have a 18" piece of 6x6 from a pole barn construction. So which would be better, that or solid block? My son in law will be back tomorrow, he has 2022 Dodge 1500 4x4.

If the 18 inch piece of 6x6 on it's side is high enough I would use that. If you can put the car jack under the tongue to lift it up enough to slip the 6x6 in place under the tongue jack that would be OK but the truck sounds a little safer. Make sure your tires are well blocked so the trailer can't roll on you.

Safety first, don't get in a situation where it can fall on you!
