Newbie plumbing question

Hi,
My wife and I have just bought a nice used Jayflight 198rd, and I have a plumbing question. Under the wash basin cupboard in the bathroom I discovered these two water valves, could someone tell me what they are for please?

They look like low point drains for winterizing you pull up on them and it drains the water from your water lines .... you have to open hot and cold faucets to let them gravity drain .... anybody else can chime in if they wish to add

They are low point drains. They are used to drain the plumbing system for winterization. You open all faucets and then these valves to drain the system. They pull up to open them and push down to close them.

It appears they are in Orlando, FL... probably not familiar with winterizing.

Aha !
Thanks for the replies guys.
Winterizing? I understand the concept but here in Orlando it is sunny and 75 degrees today, however I shall file that information away just in case we ever go anywhere cold.

Trust me, you have no clue what "brutal" really is ! LOL 120 is brutal..but it is a dry heat, and once you get use to driving with oven mitts, it's not bad

My definition of brutal is a grind of 5-6 months of 95 degree weather with 90-100% humidity and a regular afternoon rain storm leaving the asphalt steaming. Mix in an occasional hurricane for a break in monotony. But I hear you about the oven mitts, you soon learn about contact heat after the first time you sit on summertime plastic seats wearing shorts.

Those low-point drains aren't just for winterizing; The are for sanitizing your FW tank(s) and water lines, as well. It is essential for you to do that before your first outing. In fact, you should sanitize the water system a couple of times each year. In that Florida heat, bacteria can grow pretty rapidly in the FW system!
