I run a 5600w generator, when I do not have shore power, and It works fine kicking off a 15000btu AC, the key is to get one big enough to kick off the AC compressor and then the watt usage comes done. I will tell you this though, my generator is heavy for one person to handle.

We went to Camping World and picked up a 4k watt Champion Gen. Says only 68db and it sure seemed that quiet when it started on the first pull. Paid a few $$ extra for a warranty that allows us just to return the whole unit if there are any problems. Total cost was under $400 not he $1k to 3K others wanted. Madien trip this weekend.
