No battery power
I just recently purchased a 2017 Jayco and for some reason when not hooked up to any power the battery seems to be dead. After using a battery tester which concluded the brand new battery is good and putting a new battery on anyway I have the same issue... It's going back to the dealership as soon as possible but we have a trip planned for this weekend. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I have checked all fuses including the one by the junction box on the frame. As far as I know there is no battery shutoff switch. I have looked everywhere and came up with nothing. Now I am running into the issue of my fridge not cooling very much at all... Really hoping that the 2 issues are connected somehow and that my brand new camer isn't going to be in the shop over and over...

Did you check your reverse fuses either on the power converter (Progressive) or on the panel (W.O.F)
Leaving your battery connected without shore power will drain the battery.

All fuses have been checked. I only have one panel where there is a group of fuses as well as breakers. I also have the in line battery fuse. All have been changed and re checked.

Sounds like you have a W.O.F converter. Remove the battery + connection and go on shore power. Then check with a voltmeter if you have power at the battery connection (between ground and the wire coming from the circuit breaker or fuse). If there's power the converter is OK. If not look for the reverse fuse again.

I have removed and tested the battery and everything is good and it's charged and holding a charge. I had to get a new battery for my dump trailer and that didn't even remedy anything.

I have a 2011 jay feather. When hooked up to electric power everything works fine, but when I disconnect the power I try to run from my battery I have nothing. I have checked all the fuses including the two fuses on the lines that connect to the positive and negative. On the battery lines, one has a black wire and the other has a black and white wire, pretty sure the black and white is negative and the black one is positive, when hooked up to electric when I touch the terminals to the battery post they will spark but no sparks when electric is unplugged. Are they a battery connector switch somewhere on the camper?

Jay Feathers have a fuse at the Battery + also if you have a PTJack there should be a 30 amp fuse for that. If the battery doesn't feed power to your trailer the problem can be at the reverse fuse or the Batt. + fuse. The reverse fuse on WOF converter is on the panel and Progressive Converter is on the converter it self.

Following this because same issue popped up with our trailer during packdown last weekend. Battery checks out fine. Hubs will recheck the reverse fuse again. Hoping that will be the problem & an easy fix
Good thing is if that is not the solution, we still have 2 months of warranty. But that will require the usual weeks of trailer at dealer & cancelling 1 camp weekend .

Have you checked the ground wire from your battery. Make sure that you have a good ground connection.

There are items like the propane gas alarm and the radio's clock that create "phantom" drains on your battery. I know that after a week or two of just sitting without shore power to keep the battery charged, my battery has lost a good bit of its charge. I would recommend disconnecting the battery if the coach is going to sit without being on shore power any longer than two weeks.
Another phantom drain is the television antenna's amplifier if it's accidentally left on.

You need to get a multimeter and just check your wiring for continuity starting at your battery.
The 30amp "fuse" is usually an auto reset breaker not a fuse so you will have to check it with a multimeter.
One other thought is that maybe you have the positive and negative backwards on the battery as the colors are not intuitive. Just follow the cable attached to the frame it should go back to the negative terminal of the battery.

Another check which is often overlooked. Fuses at the converter. Many converters have fuses which are NOT part of the fuse panel/circuit board/circuit breaker. In order to find out, you have to remove the circuitbreaker/fuse panel itself. Pull it free and look in behind it at the converter itself. You may need a small flashlight and/or small inspection mirror. It is surprising how many people never check for this. Meanwhile an RV shop gets to charge an hours labor to change one or two fuses.
As for your refrigerator, turn it off of shore power and run it on propane for a while and see if that makes it cool more/faster. Though unlikely, the electrical issue could be related to the refrigerator no cooling properly.

10 dollar multimeter and you could quickly determine if your power panel, with all the 12 volt fuses is getting any power at all. If no, at least you know the problem is upstream. Is your smoke detector still working? If you are sure your battery is good, you either have a bad ground connection from the battery to the frame, or you have a blown fuse between you battery and your 'fuse box'. Troubleshooting electrical issues on any of these campers can be time consuming, but if you take your time and test some key areas with your multi meter, it's usually pretty easy to determine where the problem is.

Thanks for all of the good info on this. Luckily husband is electrically inclined. Battery tests fine with meter and ground wire has good connection. Will be re-checking the reverse fuses and pulling out the panel to check for the additional fuses this week.
Will update & share when we find the root issue.

I realized I didn't post an update on this. Went to Inks Lake State Park last month. Arrived at storage facility expecting we would need to plug into truck to get tongue jack to work...we were pleasantly surprised to find it worked fine without being connected. Unsure what the root issues was or if it will happen again. Perhaps it will be our gremlin
