No hot water 264BH (noob questions)

I’m driving myself crazy.

Hooked up to city water and city electric.

All valves are inline near the hot water.

Turned on city water for 30 mins or so.

Turn on the hot water button in the trailer.

Waited a few hours and no hot water.

Anyone know why this isn’t working?

Did you let the tank fill up before you turned it on? If it wasn't full you may have burned up the elec element.

Also there may be another switch on the back of the tank.

Is the water tank full of water? Are you trying heat it with propane? Do you have propane and are the valves on the tanks opened? Have you tried lighting the stove to be sure propane is flowing?

That's a start....

It was on the city water for an hour or so before I turned on the switch.

When you turn on a hot tap, does cold water come out? Are you sure you have the valves correct?

There are 2 switches for on. One for elec and one for gas. Also there is one in the wh compartment.

With the trailer on city water, did you open a faucet for the HOT water to be sure the hot water tank was full of water?

Yes. Cold water comes out.

Now it’s working. So weird.

I see the element on burning propane.

I want electric. I know I’m missing a simple step.

Well at least you have hot water which means all the valves are correct. Now find the elec. hw switch and try them.

Good chance the 120v circuit breaker is flipped off. The little light in the switch works off of 12vDC.

I flip mine off if the tank is dry to keep from burning out the element, if someone flips on the heater by accident.
