Smile No lights battery monitor reads good

Got home from camping trip at RV park. Did not plug in shore power to 120 as normal. 20 days later had a beep on carbon monoxide detector, checked this out noticed my furion thermostat flashing blue light, tried to turn off got a low reading? Lights did not go on. Did get roof fan on in bathroom. Figured must be low batteries. I have 2 new, only 8 months old. Checked battery monitor red lights indicated good.
I plugged trailer into 120 shore power, battery monitor reads charging, lights on, beeping from carbon monoxide quit beeping, no flashing blue light on thermostat.

Batteries must have drained over 19 days sitting, what could of caused this? 2021 Featherlight.

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

Yes, your batteries have parasitic draw, from the propane/CO detector (which is a safety feature), perhaps the radio display (if there are station presets), and maybe a couple of other things. It's best to keep the TT plugged in so the battery charger keeps them up to snuff. It's a smart charger on board and is the same as a battery maintainer.

Thanks so much, I needed confirmation on what I thought was problem. One question why dod I get 3 red lights reading battery good? Guess batteries were drawn down so no lights bot enough for vent fan. Thought I would get fair or poor battery reading?
Thanks

The lights are not a true reading of battery voltage. I don't know what their thresholds are but it doesn't take much to light the led indicators. I installed a remote battery voltage meter so I can see actual status of the battery. It doesn't take much to drain a battery down to even a straight 12 volts...

I agree with Jflightrisk. Your batteries were killed by the amp or so per hour draw of teh Propane/CO detector and any other little draw on your batteries. In most case the draw goes right around a "battery isolator" that is factory installed. That is due to liability on RV maker if you do shut them off.
After you recharge the batteries and if they survived I would add a simple cut off switch at the battery. Something simple is ok if you can reach the batteries easily or wire it through a switch mounted where you can reach it.

I used a top post switch that unscrewed for about $9 on amazon till I switched to Lithium and now use a switch as the battery is harder to reach.

Get a multimeter, the Harbor Freight cheapo or the cheapest at the store near you will be fine. Start at the battery terminals and see what the actual voltage with no load and not charging for several hours. Batteries just off the charger will often give a false state of charge.

Next go on youtube and watch a couple of RV explanations of how the 12 volt system and the batteries work. Here is a simple chart. Note, once it hits 50% charge you will eating into the life and capacity by damaging the battery.
Or do like I did and buy a lithium with bluetooth that I can read remotely and never have to worry if I run it down to the bottom.

Lasting 19 days is pretty good for parasite power drains.

A multimeter is a great tool to test the battery. I have tried a few of the 12V AUX volt meter devices, and they all have been off by at least 0.2Vs and often much more.

If possible keep the TT plugged in while at home. If not possible install a true battery disconnect. Pending on your TT, Jayco may have bypassed their disconnect, such as the CO/Gas detector, and the Jaycommand, and if you have auto leveling that system will be bypassed.

I only got about 10 days from our original batteries.

Lights won’t give accurate info, you need something to read the actual voltage. These manufacturers will put in cheap garbage and call it a feature or something for the brochure.

I’d guess defective batt monitor or improper wiring.

19 days not bad.

I can go 10 days using my batteries (just lights, water pump, and para (you know) drain. Double 6V. Probably wouldn't go much longer than that if we weren't using it.

My Chevy PU has super duty great fantastic and new battery. It will drain in a little over a week of being parked, so I keep a maintainer on it.

Welcome to RV world.
