No Power from Battery

Hi Jaycoers,

I have ‘06 Jayflight 27BH and I am not receiving any power from my battery. I have replaced the fuse and battery. My battery monitor reads low battery power, but I bought a brand new battery. Lastly, everything works fine when connected to Sure Power.

Any suggestions?

Follow the cable that is connected to your negative terminal of the battery does it go to the TT frame? This is usually a white cable.

Do you have a battery tester or voltage meter. If you are getting good voltage at the battery terminals than it is a connection problems.

Clean and tighten attachment to the battery terminals.
As above, check that the ground is clean and tight, no paint, rust or corrosion.
If there are any joints in the battery cables, check them to make sure still good and not corroded or come apart.

Inside your electric converter box there is a grounding bar. The connection there to the frame can come loose.

Fuses in the box have to be pulled and checked.

Sounds like either a ground issue or the master fuse on the positive side near the battery. It could be a blown one, corrosion or a contact disconnected. Look for a small rubber fuse holder next to the junction box on the frame and very close to the battery.

My guess is a corroded ground connection on the frame. Follow the negative cable as it leaves the battery to see where it attaches to the frame. Odds are, that connection could be bad, the wire broken or rotting away and barely making a connection.
