Noisy furnace blower.

I just opened up the camper from winter storage. The furnace blower motor is making a ton of noise. I suspect something moved in like a mouse. It could be that the motor is just bad. The problem is I don't see anyway to access the blower. I have a 2011 314BDS. The furnace is located on the floor under a storage cabinet. I can remove the decorative wooden vent to get to the furnace but thats about it. There is no access from outside there is only an exhaust vent on the exterior. The furnace looks like it would need to be removed the check the blower. The blower is at the rear near the outside wall. There are 3 ducts a hard plumed gas line and water lines going to the outside shower and water heater all in front of the furnace. Most of the screws are not accessible due to the tight space. I believe the furnace was installed then the cabinet built on top of it. Has anyone serviced the furnace on this trailer before of have any suggestions that might be helpful.
Thank You.

You may want to address an email to Jayco tech support for your model and year and ask how you could go about accessing the blower fan area.

One way or another, the furnace box needs to come out to access the blower and motor.

IMO with a 17 year old RV furnace there are numerous possibilities. The first things that come to mind short of having a certified tech getting involved:

* Clear any cold air return and heat vent obstructions.
* Check for obstructions around the furnace.
* Check for obstructions around the furnace exhaust port assembly.

Removing the furnace and have a bench test performed most likely would identify any issues.

Just food for thought.

If it is the fan causing the noise (not blockages in venting) then you have to pull it out. Past fan experience include dirty blades, things wound around the center including string, hair, etc., bad bearings in the motor, bad motor mount or obstructions pulled into the fan hitting the blades. Once you have it part way out but still attached to 12 volts and thermostat you can watch it and see if you can identify the problem.

Or put in a new one. Use exact model and serial number to find a replacement fan. If it is somewhere like Amazon with free returns you might just order one in advance.

Don't forget to clean and check the fan air flow switch and just give it a general cleanup while it is out.

If there is enough clearance you might also add some noise deadening "under hood" type insulation that is high temp rated to reduce noise a little, not much but a little.
