Noob question - heat, runs on?

We are new TT owners and they definitely went over this at walkthrough but I will admit my head was spinning at the time.

We have a jay feather 19bh with a small heater/furnace under the bunk beds and thermostat on the wall.

1. Does that run on electric or propane? Or both?

2. If electric, can I run the heat while connected to 15 amp outlet on the side of my house?

We have a cold fall day in PA and I want to test it out. Haven’t had a chance to use the heat and thought today would be a good day.

Thanks!

Furnace require BOTH propane and electricity. It burns the propane for heat and runs the fan on electricity.

15A is lots for furnace. No issue

In ours the burner in the furnace is propane and the fan runs on 12V

When we picked up our Jayfeather, the guy very proudly demonstrated the furnace, and got quite upset when it only blew cold... Eventually, he had to go outside and turn the propane on...:-)

But yes, it uses propane to provide the heat, and 12V to run the fan and the control board. igniter, etc. I will run on battery alone. but be aware that, if you're not plugged in to shore power, that fan will suck your battery down.

Always a good thing to test it. One, is because you’ll know how to use it when you need it and two, if your camper is new your test with “burn out” nasty odors that sometimes are present in a new camper’s ductwork.
