Norcold Ice Maker

How quickly does your Norcold ice maker make ice? It took 24 hours to make the first dump, and 4 hours later it’s yet to make another. I checked with a thermometer and it is zero or below (that’s as low as the thermometer would go).

The freezer needs to be -12 F for good continuous ice making. The first tray is really influence by ambient air temp and greatly effected by the status of the refrigerator section. I think you will find with the unit sitting closed like over night you will produce ice every couple of hours and while camping in warm temperatures you may not make ice or only a couple of dumps during the day time.

Also keeping the freezer full helps too.

Ours makes 1-2 dumps a day. Worthless.

We have a countertop/portable ice maker. It makes a full gallon zip of ice cubes in about 4 hours.
