Only 1 of 2 external speakers wired by Jayco?

I have owned a 2016 Jayco Whitehawk BHKS for 4 years. Love it. The two Furrion external speakers just rotted out from the extreme cold here in Upstate new york so I bought some West Marine replacements. Right speaker replaced with no issues. When i removed the left one, it came straight out with no speaker wires attached. I assume they pulled off and searched the compartment behind them. No luck. Removed the fascia in front of the stove inside to trace the lost wire. Found everything (right speaker wire, turn signal leads, coax cable connection) on that side except that wire. Turns out, that wire never existed! Am I missing something or did Jayco decide I only needed one of two speakers? Pictures attached are of old speaker and the speaker wires to the right speaker, the only wire found.

You must not use them much? I have checked mine out but rarely use them.

Humm, wire shortage?? Luckily speaker wire is fairly simple project if the radio is nearby.

Only time ours gets turned on is after I have disconnected all 12V power. Our stereo automatically turns on all speakers once it is powered back up. Bummer, as I am going to put the radio on a switch to conserve power when boondocking.

Yes. Not a huge project just such a silly oversight at the factory. To keep from running another wire i was going to T-split the existing one and create a second wire. This will work, right?

I would check behind the radio to see what color wires are there for the exterior speakers, if they didn't wire both then looking there should tell you, on the other hand perhaps the wires were pulled away a bit. Also, I noticed in pic one what looks like a double black/black grey wire and pic three a double white wire. Most speaker wires are double wires so (two wires molded together) so again perhaps looking at the radio would help, or if yours is like mine (perhaps not) then there is a switch at the door for the exterior speakers which on mine have both left and right wires there.

Also, speaking of the speakers, mine did the same thing and rotted out the cones, likely from the extreme heat here in Texas . I only replaced them (primarily) due to the fact that they were similar to having an open window and not boxed in so hot air, bugs, or whatever could simply come right inside the cabinet from the no-sealing rotted out speakers. I also suspect opening and closing the RV door likely doesn't help them any as when I changed mine I could feel the air pressure with the speakers out when someone opened and closed the door. If my new ones don't last long then I may just seal the opening from the inside with a round cut of plywood and attach the covers to keep everything looking good. ~CA

BTW, Welcome to the JOF (Jayco Owners Forums).
