optional bike rack/cargo carrier storage

does any one know the actual inside dimensions of the cargo carrier. My TT is stored 275 miles away and I have one of the cargo carriers on the back. I would like to place a box i.e. patio box or some type of storage for my camp chairs, outdoor mats etc. I found one at Sams, but since I can't measure the cargo carrier, I don't know if its too big or not. Also open to any other suggestions to accomplish my goal.
