Ordered new 2015 26bh. need help with mods
i just very recently ordered a new 2015 jay flight 26bh. (waiting game is on, 6-8 weeks). i do dry camping only. i will have the 90 gallon fresh water tank, dual 30-lb propane, enclosed under belly, fiberglass walls, fully loaded…etc.
immediately after i take delivery, i'm going to install: a 2nd battery & battery switch; foam mattress toppers for bunks & new residential mattress upfront for myself. I'm debating installing a solar system, but wanted to wait a season to see how well the dual batteries hold up.
Also, was thinking about replacing shower head?
It has power tongue jack, and electric stabilizers.
Any other ideas would be appreciated. thanks

Change out all the light bulbs for LEDs which are available on Ebay. I use twin 12v vs. twin 6v batteries since the factory converter works with this and of one battery goes down it can be disconnected and one can still operate. I also use four jack stands to level the RV since this removes any movement. One set goes to the frame just in front of the tandems. while the other set goes at the very front. It doesn't take any longer to do this than any other method. I installed a 1000 inverter (2000w peek) near the batteries using #2 inverter cables. I wired this into one side of the 50 amp service so that I can run the TV, 110v outlets, the fridge, etc. I moved the converter to the other 50 leg so it isn't trying to charge the batteries while I am running the inverter. I also did the mods you are planning. This should get you started.

mine was ordered with jayco's new "elite package" (new for 2015"), it will have all led bulbs. it will also have the scissor jacks which will improve the rv from rocking. i will also be buying the bal x-chock to help with movement as well.
thanks for the ideas. anyone try that oxygenics shower head?

Yes....I've had the oxygenics head in my 2 recent TT's, I like them very much. Help conserve water.....a bit noisier than the standard one as they move a lot of air mixed with the H2O

We love our oxygenics shower head. We moved it over from our 19H to our 26BH. I don't find it noisy at all. It works great!

We put an on/off switch by the shower head on the hose. It works great for us so far.
Azdude, who did you purchase your TT from?

I'm curious, for those of you who have a switch of some kind for your shower heads to make Navy showers more convenient, does the water get really hot when you turn it back on? I installed a shower head with an on board switch, and when I switch it back on, I have to aim it at the wall so I don't get scalded at first. After a few seconds it equalizes back to the right setting...

we purchased (or better said traded in, or traded up) at the little dealer off I-17 & DEER VALLEY in Phoenix. Great dealership and great service department.

That is who we bought from also. We purchased from them twice. We traded our PUP for a 26RLS but DD outgrew the jack knife bed, then to the Eagle. Love it so far. We boondocks quite a bit also up north and love it. Congrats and enjoy your new TT.

Thanks. I only boondock. That is why i traded my 2012' x213(which we also bought at little dealer) for the 26bh. triple fresh water, double propane capacity, 2 batteries, bigger fridge, and being able to swap out factory queen mattress for a residential one is why i traded mine in. it will be a much more comfortable trailer. can't wait for it to arrive
