Red face Our mods

Hi all.. Thought I would share all of the mods that we have made to our new to us trailer. Many were based on threads I have read on this site, so many thanks for the ideas.

- replaced the undersized lead acid battery with a LiFePO4 battery and moved it inside the trailer.
- added a 2000 watt sine wave inverter, runs the microwave without a problem. Wired the remote control to the same bulkhead as the water monitor.
- added a dc-dc converter on the battery wire from the tow vehicle.
- added a high amperage disconnect to the positive battery cable.
- added a low temperature monitor and solid state relay to disconnect
the charger connection to protect the LiFePO4 battery from charging during the freezing weather.
- added the IQ smart charger module to our IOTA converter which ups the charger voltage for use with the lithium battery specs.
- added a Camco electric element to our hot water tank. Works great at campgrounds with electric hookup and save us propane.
- added a separate outlet and circuit breaker for the Camco element.
- added a separate Hopkins breakaway battery/charger kit that charges when hooked up to the tow vehicle.
- added a Calgon water filter and tap to the kitchen sink.
- replaced the shower head, now has a separate shutoff.
- replaced the crappy window curtains with cordless blinds.
- replaced the frosted window in the door with a clear one that has a built in shutter. Works very well.
- replaced the short grip bar beside the door with a longer one..
- added a pushbar on the inside of the screen door.
- added a Valterra sewer hose carrier, can now carry both sections of pipe OUTSIDE of the trailer.
- replaced the well used 4" camper mattress with a new 6" memory foam mattress.
- added slats from Ikea under the mattress to help with moisture..

Still planned to do
- add solar panel and charger .
- add connector for portable solar panel for shady sites.
- add a second LiFePO4 battery to up the capacity to 200ah.
- replace the dark vinyl sheet flooring with something brighter and perhaps warmer.
- replace bathroom fan with variable speed alternative.
- replace stove exhaust fan or at the least, add a speed control to reduce the noise.
- replace the rear bumper to allow for outside storage box and a second spare tire.

Thats all for now..

Hope you find this helpful..

That 2000 watt inverter makes me jealous. Nice upgrades. Now we need pics.
