Question Outdoor Bar B Q connection

Has anyone connected a small portable grill, designed for "throw away" gas containers, to the built in, quick connect line directly to the TT's LP tanks?

My RV parts person said it can't be done cuz the pressure is too low. Yet I see hoses advertised with a "throw away" type nozzle on one end making me think that the conversion must be doable.

What do I need to accomplish this?

Your RV parts guy speaks the truth...to a certain extent. Your mini grill is set up for disposable bottles. The dial to control the flame contains a high pressure regulator to reduce the bottle pressure down to 11" water column. Your LP tanks on the trailer also use a high pressure regulator to accomplish the same task. If you try to hook up your mini grill to the quick connect on the trailer (I'm assuming you have a small LP quick coupler located somewhere along the curb side frame rail) then you are going to be supplying low pressure gas to the inlet of a high pressure regulator. You will have to remove the dial/regulator on your mini grill and replace it with a valve to adjust the flame and an orifice of the proper size for the btu rating of your grill @ 11" water column. Or you can tap off the high side of your trailer regulator and put on a hose with a male bottle thread and simply screw that into your mini grill regulator knob.

I removed the regulator from my Weber 200 and hooked up a flex hose with a quick connect so I could run my BBQ off my TT propane connection. Works great.
