"Over the Air" TV

We have a 2016 245rlsw. We are using only the wing antenna for reception. Both Tvs are set to "air". Antenna booster (green light ) is on. Why would the bedroom TV get twice as many channels using an "autoscan" feature? It receives about six more channels than the living room TV....shouldn't they get the same signal? Coax loop is on the top two outlets, and the main TV is connected to the lower panel (with the 12v jack and antenna booster switch)

Welcome to the forum.

IMO, they should be getting the same signal & same stations.

Would it be possible for you to try running the living room TV off the coax connector for the bedroom TV? That should show if it is something different with the wiring or the TV sets.

Do you have two different model televisions? If so, they likely have different levels of reception. It's like having two different cell phones next to each other. One usually has a better ability to amplify the signal that's present. Of course, if they're the same model, disregard this post.

Also there may be a loose or bad connection on the LR TV. Check the cables.

Same thing happens in my stick and brick home with 2 different TVs on OTA. As stateboy mentioned, sometimes it’s just the quality of receiver in the TV.

Six sets between home and camper. No two get the same OTA channels.

Everything from tuner sensitivity from model to model even within the same manufacturer to length of coax runs to each location to any splitters in one run vs. the other, to loose connections behind the wall plates or on the end of one coax vs the other are just a few of the possible reasons for this discrepancy and usually occur on channels that are already borderline in regards to signal strength at your location. I have even had instances where just the slightest direction adjustment of say an inch one way or the other to the antenna will get a station to lock in where it didn't before.

It used to be pre digital TV that you could still get a weak station to show a picture but it would have snow, ghosts or other artifacts but in the digital age, it's either enough or it isn't and the sensitivity cutoff in the particular TV makes that determination on whether a channel is strong enough or not.
