So we picked up our 2012 Eagle Super Lite 314BDS. Wasn't without challenges though...
We traded in our 2010 19H earlier in the week. I left the key to the lockable hitch pin on my old keys, and the pin was locked on the hitch head. Too late to get the key back, as the 19H had already been sold, so after the initial panic, the dealer told me not to worry, they could cut the pin off. "OK, no biggie" I thought, and it wasn't.
After going through the orientation, hooking up the camper to the truck, all that was left was to hand me the keys to the camper. Only...no keys!!! Dealer couldn't figure out for the life of them where the keys had gone. So again, no biggie, just changed out the locks with a different camper, and off I went.
2-1/2 hours later, arrived at the storage lot of the campground where we will keep our camper. They directed me to a spot that required me to pull this rather large camper up a rather steep, loose-dirt road, only to find little "wiggle room" and a narrow storage slot. "OK, THIS could be the breaking point" I thought. Just as I start to line it up to attempt backing up into a tight spot, a car pulls up behind me beeping its horn. Driver tells me I won't fit there. Driver worked for the campground and inadvertently had directed me to a wrong spot, thinking I still had the 19H ("that's what the computer said" she told me...) and that I'd fit there perfectly. AAARRRRGGGHH!!!
Happy to report that after carefully maneuvering back DOWN the hill, I was assigned to a much more appropriate spot. WHEW! Long day but well worth it. Can't wait for our first weekend!
