Picked up our new 31RKS yesterday

Wahoo! Our new 31RKS finally came in after six weeks, and we picked it up yesterday. We found that the power stabilizers do indeed equalize for uneven ground, contrary to the Jayco reps assertion that they would not. We also broke a key off in the deadbolt. They apparently don't lubricate those at the factory. They should. There were several small defects discovered, mostly in the upholstrey. They really should kick up their quality control in that area. But we are thrilled nonetheless. Using the equalizer hitch on a Chevy 2500 HD with a 410 rear end was flawless. We drove home 130 miles in a 40mph wind and it was barely noticeable. We are happy with it.

FYI, we had a seam on our couch that was splitting that we noticed during our PDI. The whole couch material was replaced on a warranty visit to our dealer.

Congrats! Where will you take it for it's maiden voyage?

Probably to thousand trails (if the snow be gone) in a month or so.

What region of the country are you from? We are currently using 13 of our nights at a TT cg in Southern Ca. I really like some of the ones here in Cali, but have a couple more to check out that we haven't yet been to.

Eastern Washington. Little Diamond TT still has 2 feet of snow in the campsites. The ones on the coast of Wasingtn and Oregon are superb. Been to most of them.

We have only been to the RPI/CtoC cg's in Washington/Oregon as we weren't TT yet when traveling hwy 1 up the coast a couple of years ago. If ya get down to Cali, we can let you know what to expect at the Southern Cali TT's. Also, RV Park Reviews have some accurate member reviews of cg's.

Are ya going to do a Camp Driveway night or two just to check out the tt? Either way, have fun!

Altar1, our key also worked very hard. I used a little WD40 and it helped a little. It will loosen up with use. I turned the lock from the inside over and over and it got a wee bit better. I am no longer worried about breaking the key.

Thanks for that info. I had three extra keys made today, but sadly, they don't work. I'll tale'em back tomorrow and try again.

I took the plate off the inside, loosened the 2 screws inside about an 1/8 turn. Now it works fine. Jayco is going to send me another key to replace the broken one.
