pilot light on hot H2O heater

I have found that my pilot light will not stay on AFTER the gas heats up the water. So we get one or two showers. I would prefer not to relight pilot each day that we have camped.

Its not automatic? on a 2010?.. take it back to the dealer.. needs adjustment.
a 2010 should still be under warranty.

I had trouble with my pilot staying lit and it turned out to be a spider web in the air mixture tube, between the gas outlet orifice and the pilot. Might be worth a look.

Gas stove works fine.

The hot h2o tank requires a manual light of pilot. I can live with that if I only have to light pilot once. Will check for spider webs et al; and will be calling dealer tomorrow. Part of discussion with dealer will be an automatic pilot light starter.

Fighting with the same thing on a buddies gas only unit. At random times it goes out. I looked at one of those pilot relighter kits. They are about $70 and supposed to fix this problem.

I didn't realize Jayco still sold a gas only unit. Don't understand why since a auto ignition is only $75 more street price. Guess they are trying to save a buck wherever they can, but it leaves new RV owners with a bad experience.

I was also surprised that the H2O heater is not auto ignition, especially since the refrigerator in gas mode is automatic. I guess a buck is a buck. Keeps the after-market vendors in business I guess.

If its the old style heater gas only and not auto ignite then it might be a bad thermal coupler I have had this problem on other trailers that I have had even had to pull gas line to pilot and blow out to get gas to flow.
