Playing Netflix

What is the proper way to watch Netflix or Amazon prime off my iPhone and directly into the TV? Do you go through the radio USB port or the HDMI outlet on the TV?

Get a Roku stick and plug it into your HDMI port on the TV.

That’s what we use. We can use the WiFi if it’s worth a hoot or our cells hotspot.

For $120-$130 you can replace the tv with a smart one that connects to WiFi. When we don’t have WiFi I just connect the tv to my phones hotspot and can instantly watch Netflix, prime, Hulu, Disney+, etc.

Yeah, a lot of places don’t have WiFi. That’s why I hotspot my phone.

Smart TV, or if you have a BlueRay, it will probably have the apps for Netflix and Amazon. I use my phone hotspot. If you do not have Wifi available or like most RV campgrounds everyone and their dog is streaming so the Wifi is too slow. You can also use Firestick, Roku or what ever but you are still going to need a reliable Wifi. Reliable is the key word here.

That's the one I installed. Once I installed it, I downloaded the Xfinity app and can log into my Xfinity account and watch all the Xfinity channels live or wifey can watch what she's saved/recorded on the DVR.

Wont need the 4k version but the regular HD version for 1/2 the price, unless you replaced the POS OEM TV with a 4K (which would not be a worthwhile investment based on common TV size in an RV and the typical spotty signal)

I bought 2 Rokus for less than $30. each at Walmart. They work great. one at home and one in rv. If I ever get a smart tv, they will be marketplace fodder!

I just use screen sharing on my phone and smart TV. Share my phone screen with my smart TV.

I believe most of these rigs come with standard TVs and not SMART TVs, so I don't think that's an option for most.

I don't own an iPhone, but I believe this is what you need. Then plug an HDMI cable into the adapter to the HDMI port on the TV.

The notes on it say it's not compatible with Netflix or Amazon Prime?

I guess the jury is still out on that. The description says it isn't compatible. However, in the Q&A section, some folks say it does work with Netflix, some say it doesn't (based on the description).

This adapter allows what is on the phone's screen to be displayed on an HDMI enabled TV, not sure how Amazon or Netflix could block that.
