Pleated shade string wearing thin
Hello everyone. We own a 2012 jayflight with pleated shades covering all our windows. As we were getting ready for the season we noticed two of the shades guide string are wearing extremely thin. I was wondering if this is something I can fix or are new shades in my future?
Thanks in advance.

There was a post about 4-5 months ago about how to replace it. I do not recall the details, but it sounded fairly easy to do. the hardest part was finding new string.
Hopefully some will chime in with details or a link.

If you buy new pleated shades they work without strings.

I recently had to restring two of them. Not one of my favorite jobs, but I get easily impatient.

Look at the videos on how to replace the cord and adjust the tension. There is a fine line between to tight and to loose. Having them to tight causes excess string wear and having them to loose causes them to not stay in place.

I've seen good youtube videos on how to restring these. I have one that is completely busted and I'm just trying to gather in the patience to do it. Thanks ninjahbob for the link to the repair kit.

Do you have a link? I searched amazon and found something similar but they are made with a sticky to stick inside the window frame. Don't have anything to stick to on a TT.

If it's a 2 string, it's just a normal PITA, but if it's a 4 string, it's a ROYAL PITA.

Check out Costco, they carry Graber pleated shades or try Lowe's for good prices.

Nate search for RV shade restring kits and find the one that matches what you have.
Hopefully you can find the right one, good luck.
