We are new to this so bear with me. We have had our Jayco feather lite camper stored and mot plugged in and when we went to bring it in the hitch system had no power. Plugged it in and seems no power anywhere ? What am I doing wrong?

It sounds as if the battery is dead. I would check the battery and try charging it up before trying a lot of other things, if the battery sat for a long time dead, then you may have to replace it.

Also, Welcome to the JOF website. ~CA

Welcome from Northern Ontario.
Agree with craigrv. Lead acid batteries don't like being left in a discharged state.

lead acid batteries can't be discharged more than 50%... or they can, but after you go below 50% it will never fully charge. I'm not sure what the real number is, but figure a round number this way;

drain to 40%, max charge is now 80%
drain to 30%, max charge is now 60%
drain to 20%, max charge is now 40%

get below 15%, battery may never hold a charge.

Most people put in battery disconnect switches so the battery can't drain from ghost power draws. A lead acid battery will not hold a charge, even with no draw, but its slow. You are probably looking at needing a charge every 6-8 weeks to keep it above 50%. Battery quality plays into that, outside temp, overall weather exposure.

Welcome to the Forum from Western New York State!

You probably have a few auto parts stores nearby, and they should load test your battery for free, to check it's health, or lack of it. Best to try to charge it up fully before testing it.

Next time you store it with a working battery either, 1. leave it plugged in 2. add solar and let that keep it charged or take it out and use a battery tender (not a charger). When not in use you must disconnect the battery from the trailer via a switch or pulling a cable. Just the LP/CO detector will kill a battery in a few days. Some RVs have a battery kill switch that leave the LP/CO detector and some other things like and will also kill a battery.
