Power Awning not working
Hello,
I have a 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 29RKS, and my power awning has stopped working. It worked fine last year when I put the trailer in covered storage, today I pulled it out and set it up and NO AWNING? The red light in the fuse panel lights when the button is pushed, the fuse in OK in the panel. Any help is appreciated, I stuck?
Thanks

My AC wouldn't work last year when I took my trailer out of storage, nor would any of the 110 outlets. The 30 amp fuse looked fine, but it wasn't. Replaced the fuse anyway and it solved the problem. This is the first time I've encountered a bad fuse that didn't look bad when I examined it, so I'd suggest replacing the fuse just to ensure that's not the issue.

Thanks, But I changed the fuse in the panel twice. I can't see 3 different fuses looking good, but being bad?

I've never had this problem. However, what I would do first is to check if there is voltage at the awning switch (since the awning operates on battery, it should be 12 volts). If that checks out okay, I would also test for voltage at the awning motor.

You have to check step by step. Since you said there's power past the fuse, next is the switch and after the switch you have to check the outgoing power of the switch so you can eliminate where it is correct. You have to be competent in doing electrical and if not get an electrician.

Had a similar issue with our 2017 28RLS - switch was no good. Replaced switch - worked again. Switch isn't too expensive either. Good luck.

Had a similar issue with our 2017 23rls. It turned out that a wire connector up by the motor on the awning itself had come disconnected. Simple fix and back on the road.

Awing
I have a Carefree of Colorado Travel-R Flat Pitch Electric Awing(2008 Vintage) and the Motor Assembly has 3 gears. The lower gear split in half. Take the Motor Assembly Cover off (6 to 8 screws) and make sure the gear assembly is in tact. I dealt with Carefree C/S directly and after sending a picture of the split gear they agreed it should'nt have happened and sent me a whole new motor assembly free of charge. If you determine your problem is not electrical, check the gears.

All fixed
Thanks to everyone for there help and ideas. Today I decided I was going to figure it out one way or another. So I started at the fuse again. still nothing,(fuse good). Next to the switch, dead, I changed the switch, still dead. So I decided to keep the switch depressed to open the awning, then try to wiggly the fuse, well I came to find out that one of the fuse holder clips is lose in the fuse panel. If you hold the fuse just right the awning works great..

Great detective work. That's why I carry a multimeter in the trailer at all times.
