Power Jack FIC-3500

Just picked up our 2014 264BH last week and are still putting things away before we take it out. I do have one question though, anyone know who makes the FIC-3500 power jack? I didn't have a manual in my packet from the dealer and I can't find a name or tag anywhere on it - unless it's inside the unit.

Thanks

I remember doing a google search one time and I found some reference to those jacks on the web... but not sure if it had the manufacturer....

Probably a chinese company that just supplies them to the RV world

I googled it as well and didn't come up with much, other than other distributors.

I talked with my dealer yesterday and he wasn't sure either. He did some research and said that it's a Jack Quick HH-3500. Not sure why the front label says FIC-3500 though - maybe an off brand of the Jack Quick?

I wanted to know the exact same thing!
I called Jayco and asked the lady who answered the phone. She said that is made by WESCO. I searched everything I could about WESCO and could find nothing about them making electric tongue jacks. They seem to make a bunch of other stuff, but not tongue jacks that I could find. So I'm not sure she was right about it.

I hope someone on this forum knows for sure because I did not get a manual crank with mine and I am looking for one. Will another company's manual crank work on it?

Thanks for asking this question!

James

No need to fret about the manual crank, or spend the bucks and time buying a specialized one. Just grab a 7/16 socket with an extension. I just went out and verified that's the size it takes.

Thanks!

I went and found that out also.... just as back up. I also found that 11mm fits.

My 2015 26BHS came with a jack that doesn't look like the one in the OP's photo, but the single sheet of paper that came with the trailer calls it a FIC-3500-2. I'm looking for the fuse that causes it to work on the TV power supply but no the trailer's battery.

The fuse that works the power tongue jack is located directly behind the battery in an inline fuse holder.

It seems that Jayco started shipping with the new style jack about June. Mine came with the new jack, but the cover was cracked, so I had the dealer switch it to one like the OP shows. All the rest of the Jayco trailers on the lot had the old jack style, but then they started to come in with the new style jack.

I changed the 30 amp fuse in the inline fuse holder that was in the battery box and all is well, for now.

I had a 30a inline fuse blow on my landing gear. I bought a pack of 30a SB (slow blow) and have never had a problem. I taped a few to the motor handle so I don't have to go looking but so far have not had occasion to need one.

Has anyone installed a breaker there? I was thinking about doing it, but I have a fistfull of 30a fuses, and I've only blown one. There exists a breaker that fits in the 30a fuse slot, but the plastic holder that comes from Jayco is not big enough for it (it is a little wider).

I don't know what the new style jack has, but the old style shown in the photo that the OP posted has an internal 20A circuit breaker. If the breaker trips it will reset in about 15 seconds. I have tripped mine twice and it does reset in about 15 seconds. It will trip if you run out of stroke while raising the trailer. It trips immediately so as not to overheat and damage the motor.

Putting a 30A fuse in series with the breaker will do nothing unless the breaker doesn't trip. I suppose that a fast blow 30A might blow before the breaker trips if the breaker reacts slower than the fuse.

FIC 3500# Electric Tongue Jack is made in china and sold by different distributors under their own brand. Like Ultra-Fab; RAM etc. Sells on Ebay around $125
This unit can be used with a 25-30 amp circuit breaker.
Campingworld sells them also and there you can download a installation/operators manual

I don't mean to high jack this post, but a small tackle box is a great place to carry extra fuses. bulbs, etc. for trailer and Tow Vehicle.
