Power question
Can you plug a 30 amp Trailer into a home outlet with an adapter down to 110? Way over my head!
Thanks

Yes you can. It’ll charge your batteries, run your outlets, and fridge. It’ll probably pop the breaker if your A/C kicks on, and maybe if you have multiple appliances kick on at once.

Used to do it with my Greyhawk 26DS all the time. AND run the AC. But run anything else while the AC is running would trip the 20amp breaker. But be careful plugging in. You sre pkugging into a live connection. Better to trip the home breaker, plug in, then reset the breaker...
Update, I had to go recheck. While many of my breakers are 15amp, a few of mine including the outside outlets are in fact 20 amp....

It's already ac. You just need the adapter to convert it from a 15a receptacle to the 30a receptacle.
You will only have 15a so I would not use the air conditioner. Any high wattage draw approaching 15a will trip a breaker in the panel that feeds the receptacle.

Just to end some confusion you may have. The 30A trailer plug on your camper is 110V (AKA 120V). All the adapter does is enable you to plug it into a standard 120V, 15A house receptacle--the voltage is no different than the 30A receptacle at a campground.
As has been stated, sometimes the circuit that you are plugging it into at your house is actually a 20A rather than 15A. These circuits are wired with #12 wire and protected by a 20A breaker; they can be found in your bathrooms and kitchen counter areas so you can plug in hair dryers and coffee pots. Your garage and outdoor receptacles are probably only 15A circuits unless they were designed for some heavy duty equipment.
I guess my point is, if you can find a 20A receptacle to plug your adapter into you should be able to run your air conditioner as long as you're not trying to do much else at the same time. Your extension cord should be 12 gauge and as short as possible.
If you're simply keeping your batteries charged and turn on the occasional light to see if any critters are moving in for the winter you will be fine with a 15A circuit and a cheap 16 gauge extension cord.

The adapter needed is readily available in just about any store selling camping supplies or of course on Amazon. As stated by others, I wouldn't advise running the air conditioner or a microwave especially at the same time. My previous TT only drew 11 amps (as per the A/C manufacturer's reply to my inquiry) so I actually ran my A/C on a 15 amp circuit but was not comfortable doing so.
To ease my mind I installed a dedicated 30 amp/120 volt/GFI protected RV outlet next to my garage where I park my 26BH. An added bonus to this is I now have another outside outlet that I can use the 15 amp to 30 amp adapter if I need to.

You can purchase the adapter at most any Walmart’s RV section.

Great information above. Since you are new I would also suggest that you purchase a set of basic adapters; 50 amp to 30 amp, etc. Read some of the threads on the forum about this. I followed the advice of some of the Seniors when I was new and sure enough I have had to use 2 of the adapters when traveling.
