powercord

Something chewed my power cord to my camper and now it doesn't work. Its right near the plug in. Is it a good idea to just cut and reattach to the plug or re-place the entire cord?

As long as there's no other critter damage I would think cutting and replacing the plug would work just fine. You're going to loose some cord length depending on where the damage is.

You probably won't be able to reattach the original plug as it is probably molded on; buy a new plug making sure it's the right configuration.

Should be no reason why you can't just replace the plug...

Lots of good replacement 30 amp ends on Amazon, wal mart, lowes for about 15$ or so. Watch a youtube or two on how to trim and attach the wires, follow color instructions. Not a big deal. A wire stripper is a real help ($5 at lowes and elsewhere).

I just replaced the 30A plug on ours today. Used Camco's yellow plug. $7 from Amazon.

I was going to say, Don't buy the cheapest one you see. There is a difference.

When dealing with something that can burn my trailer to the ground I tend to spend more for a quality product.
